Van Vixen Farm owner Heather Heider is a professional trainer dedicated to developing confident riders and exceptional horses. She works with all ages and levels, producing some of the finest hunt horses in the United States. As an experienced fox hunter, she also guides clients in experiencing the tradition and history of the sport firsthand.

Alex has spent her entire life around horses and is passionate about continuing to grow as a rider and trainer. With a strong focus on groundwork and horsemanship, she has a natural ability to connect with horses and build their confidence through patience, consistency, and understanding. Her dedication to learning and love for horses make her a valuable part of the Van Veen Farm team.

An A Pony Clubber and National Examiner with a lifelong background in eventing, foxhunting, and A-circuit competition, she brings decades of experience both in and out of the saddle. Her career includes steeplechasing over hurdles and timber, judging Field Hunter Championships, and extensive work teaching Pony Club camps, clinics, and upper-level testing preparation through the C3, B and A ratings. Passionate about horsemanship and rider safety, she is known for developing confident, knowledgeable riders with a strong foundation in both horse care and effective riding.

With a lifelong passion for Thoroughbreds, foxhunting, and cross-country riding, Brittany brings a diverse background in hunter/jumper competition, racehorse training, and rider development. Her experience includes riding, breeding, owning, and exercising racehorses, as well as successfully competing off-the-track Thoroughbreds in Field Hunter Trials. A CHA Certified Riding Instructor and Registered Nurse, she is passionate about helping riders build confidence, understand their horses as individuals, and develop the skills needed for safe, effective horsemanship both in and out of the saddle.

Amy competes on the A Circuit training her own and client horses.  Since 2022 Amy has assisted Heather in training VVF sales and show horses in the ring and hunt field.  ​In 2024 Amy, competed Van Vixen's Bay Meadow Fantasia to the top 12 in the  TAR Field Hunter Champs,  Grand Champion Upperville CB , and National Reserve CB Champion.
